Shoulder Placement

Like everything in Pilates, we want to work from the joint to the extremely. So when we move our arm, we want to stabilize the shoulder joint first. Most of us haven't learned to use the muscles under and around our shoulder blades, so we use a bit too much of the ones above. Particularly the upper trapezius. That muscle is often tight.

In this video, we show the different movements of the shoulder blades and how to find the muscles below and around the outside to help move the arm.
