Foam Rolling Occipital Area
This is a very gentle myofascial technique. I really prefer the soft foam roller, so if you don't have one yet, hop over to AMAZON and go get you one. I know they are a bit pricy, but it makes a world of difference to have a soft one.
We are getting on the back of the skull on the temporal bone to release the occipitals and the SCM. Because we always bring our eyes up to the horizon (we don't look down at our feet), these muscles at the back of the skull tend to get short and tight.
You won't know you need this until you get into it and then you will wonder why you don't do this all the time.
I lead you through step by step in this video.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Just hop on down to the floor and go through it with me. It takes about 6 minutes but your neck will love you.
