Wall Robot
This exercise is harder than it looks. It involves opening the arm out to the side in a movement we call external rotation. This is often felt in the pectorals muscles when they are tight. It also strengthens the middle and lower trapezius muscles as you try to keep your shoulders attached to the wall. You might even feel a little stretch in your neck muscles or between your shoulder blades.
Remember not to force anything. Get as close as you can, but allow your body time to adapt. This is a marathon not a sprint. If we bring more tension up into the neck and shoulders while performing the exercise, it defeats the purpose. Take note of what areas are tight and keep working at it. This one was harder for me than I thought it would be.
