Day 11- Saw

Saw involves spinal articulation with rotation.

Spinal articulation is the ability to move each vertebrae independently of the others. So we are stacking the spine one vertebrae on top of the other.

We are also going into rotation. When we rotate, we want to just move through the thoracic spine and not the pelvis. So you don't want your hips to shift or have one leg get longer than the other (that will mean you are rotating in the pelvis).

Sometimes tightness in one side will cause us to lean off of one sit bone as well. So feel each of them under you evenly.

Go slow and truly feel all the elements involved in this exercise. When you add the arm reach, there are so many things going on at one time! (Again, that's Pilates!!)
